One of the predictions for the next 2-3 years is the emergence of more personalized chatbots. Imagine a companion who knows all your pains, fears, and dreams, and accompanies you 24/7.
When trying not to let AI overtake us, we rely on the mind in the sense of knowledge and skills. But we forget about the body – we even despise it. It’s just a container for the brain, which can sit for 8 hours in an uncomfortable chair.
Btw, are you sitting comfortably right now?
Let me explain.

We will be living next to a potentially omniscient and omnipotent Something, which knows perfectly how it functions. But we don’t.
Moreover, we don’t know much about how WE function.
Many people struggle to identify their emotions and the reasons they feel them. They don’t understand how this affects their behavior, bodily reactions, and symptoms.
Emotions are a fundamental “program” that controls our lives through the body.
The scheme of this program is simple.
- We do something (behavior) because emotions push us to do so. Often, negative ones.
- If we know how to manage emotions, we can stop the first automatic reaction and take balanced actions. Therefore, we achieve success.
- If we don’t understand emotions, we don’t understand our actions and motives.
- “no matter what I do, the result is the same”
- “I always attract the same women/men I don’t want a relationship with”
- “I didn’t get a promotion, though I tried really hard”
- “my partner says I’m aggressive, I can’t be, because I’m a kitty cat”
- Because of this, we are unable to change our behavior for the better and we go with the flow
- “I’m just that kind of person”
- “I’m a scorpion”
- “my father was like that and I’m the same”
- “I’m a programmer”
- “I’m a woman”
- “I’m lazy”, etc.
- We also make it easy for others to manipulate us.
So let’s imagine that you don’t know what drives your actions, but your chatbot of choice does. What would it do with this information?
And what would you do in its place?
If we want to live next to a superintelligence and claim the right to control it, let’s learn to control ourselves first.
Otherwise, we’d all make fools of ourselves.
